Our Community

Lucy’s Friends believes in giving back to our community. Twice a year, we hold a food/supply drive for local charities. Organizations that have benefited from our drives are the Greensboro Urban Ministry, the Guilford County Animal Shelter, Feral Cat Assistance Program, Cascade Beagle Rescue (Lab beagle retiree program), the Danville Area Humane Society, & Triangle Beagle Rescue.
LF staff volunteers regularly with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Feral Cat Assistance Program, Triangle Beagle Rescue, Animal Rescue & Foster Program of Greensboro, and other organized community efforts.
Lucy's Friends was proud to be a sponsor of the first annual Bur-Mil Park 5k in April 2011.
Lucy’s Friends is a proud sponsor of 88.5 WFDD radio’s 2012 Summer Radio Camp for Kids.

Lucy’s Annual Drive for Homeless Pets…

Each summer Lucy collects donations for her animal friends in the shelter system. And like every other summer, you helped her efforts by donating all sorts of needed items: food, blankets, cleaning supplies, toys, medicine, and even 2 large bales of hay! We made 3 trips to the Guilford County Animal Shelter (our SUV was packed!), and made 5 or 6 smaller trips to our contact person with the Danville Area Humane Society. Once again, Lucy could not have done this without your amazing generosity! Thanks so much!
